Well, as predicted the sun has set on our 'Adventure' for the time being. Not long after I completed the previous blog, a little over a week ago, we received news that the separate states here in Australia were tightening up borders and placing restrictions on movement. For a while there has been plenty of conflicting information and bickering between State and Federal Governments which hasn't helped at all and lead to increasing anxiety amongst the travelling community...that would be us! We left you in Bermagui, on the coast, within touching distance of Victoria, and made it to Eden before making the decision to turn around and head back to sanctuary in the shape of Kangaroo Valley, where we commenced this journey. It feels very 'boomerangesque' (I'm sure that should be a word) having also left and returned due to fires earlier this year.  We are so very lucky that we do have somewhere safe to return to, unlike many travellers who, like us, have sold ...

Waiting........

      Dr Seuss makes a good point......everyone is just waiting. Waiting to be let out of lockdown, waiting to be allowed to visit friends and family, waiting to travel again. Australia and New Zealand have gradually been relaxing restrictions as we have all behaved, in the main, and the new case figures are reflecting that. Within Australia we have to now wait for all the different States to deliver their criteria. Queensland, Victoria, South Australia,Northern Territory & Tasmania are still not opening their borders although allowing some travel within those areas. This morning New South Wales (where we are) announced that from the 1st June we will be allowed to travel within the State and that some campsites should be opening in a bid to try to improve the huge losses suffered within the Tourism industry. That said we have two weeks to run before then, and it will be interesting to see whether there is a second wave of cases from the relaxation of rules last ...

Bush to Beach and Back Again...

How long since we did the blog says she, mmm, before we met up with Jenny & Ronni says I.  Mmm, about a month ago then?  Yup.  We have posted lots on the Book of Face but are conscious that not everyone takes the Zuckerberg Drug and actually the Blog is a much better medium for digging a bit deeper into our experiences.  I don’t mind doing it this time says I.  Mmm, says she, can you just tell people what we have been doing and not go off on one?  I can try says I.  So I am. Currently we are in a small camping ground right by the Cania Gorge National Park.  In Australia, dogs are not allowed into any National Parks (and very few people live in them either so not at all like National Parks in the UK) but this site is dog friendly and so it’s been great being able to leave Dennis at the van, or with the non-walker Jen, and then do a few of the designated walks.  The Gorge has a diverse sandstone landscape with towering cliffs, a...
